2023 - 2024              Studio Policies & Tuition

Tuition covers more than my time with your pianist at the lesson.   My time spent planning including searching repertoire, organizing recitals, staying current with the latest technology, attending conferences and practicing.  My commitment to the musical advancement of the pianist sitting on my bench is a full-time effort and goes above and beyond an hourly fee.

Please read each section, sign and date at the end, and return this form.  By signing this agreement, you agree to respect and abide by the studio policies.

  •   General Information Weekly 30, 45 or 60 minute private piano and theory lessons are offered.

  •   At The Studio | Students are expected to arrive for lessons in a timely manner, with all required materials and music.  Parents and siblings may wait quietly in the waiting area or run errands so long as they return to pick up their student in a timely fashion.  To discuss student progress, parents are welcome to talk with the teacher during the first five minutes of the student's lesson -- but not afterwards, in order to respect the next student's time slot.

  •  Practice and Instrument | Students are expected to practice a minimum of 5 days a week on a well-maintained acoustic or digital piano.  If a student comes unprepared, the lesson time will be spent to practice and review rather than teach new concepts, skills and repertoire.

  • Materials |   Music / Theory Books are not included in tuition.

Binder required for handouts, and documents

A book bag to carry all books, binder etc

An iPad is HIGHLY recommended but not required, yet many apps are essential tools to boost at home practice:  including Piano Maestro, RCM apps which I include as part of lesson  practice.   I highly recommend that all students have an iPad during practice                                                      sessions.
